2022 Tour de France is the most famous cycling contest of the year. Who is going to win ?
2022 Tour de France has started on July 1st. Cyclists engaged in this multi-stage race will fight until July 24th to get the ultimate trophy in their careers.
The Tour de France is a French bicycle race held annually in France. The race has been held annually since 1903 and is the most prestigious of cycling’s three grand tours. The Tour de France is also one of the world’s most watched sporting events.
The race has been won by many cyclists including Eddy Merckx, Bernard Hinault, and Miguel Indurain. The race takes place in France, with teams of riders from all over the world participating.
The first edition of the race had 3 stages and only four cyclists participated. The first rider to finish was Henri Desgrange, a journalist for L’Auto, who completed the race in 13 hours and 55 minutes.
Who will win in 2022 ?
2020 and 2021 Tour de France winner Tadej Pogacar will try to win 3 years in a row. The Slovenian cyclist is a huge favorite to his own succession. His has been ranked #1 on road racing for almost one year and seems unbeatable.
Pogacar’s compatriot Primoz Roglic is also amoung the favorites to win at Paris where the final stage is. He has won the Paris-Nice race and the Critérium du Dauphiné earlier this year. Experts say that he is well prepared and seems in very good shape at the moment.
Jonas Vingegaard has reached the second place in the 2021 Tour de France. Roglic’s teammate has been performing well and then can take advantage of a very good team to win the race this year.
Geriant Thomas, Alexander Viasov or Daneil Martinez could also pretend to win the 2022 Tour de France. Even if they are not considered huge favorites, they are very strong cyclists and they can definitely win.
